Fun In The Desert Sun

Another Plaster Blaster event come and gone. It was downright pleasant this year, it never got much hotter than the high 80s. Not much to report this year, I didn't have the time or energy to do a full-blown write-up for a magazine like I have in the past. But, I do have a couple of good photos which I will share.

Here is a photo of Andy Woerner's (the local club president) Planet Express Futurama, a 43 lb. rocket on an Aerotech K1100.

The main event was the Little Joe that was built for this weekend. I didn't get any good launch photos, but here is a shot of the setup, and this one gives you a much better idea of how big this rocket is.

Sport Rocketry Magazine

The May-June issue of Sport Rocketry Magazine has my article on Plaster Blaster 2004 (they haven't updated the image yet from the current issue). They not only published my 1200-word article, they also gave me the cover shot, as well as a couple dozen inside photos. My only complaint is that the event took place seven months ago, but from what I understand they are swamped with articles. The magazine went to full-color several issues ago, so I was pleased about that. Plaster Blaster 2005 is coming up soon, so I might drag my gear out there again this year and shoot the event.
