Torrent Typhoon

Tired of searching tons of BitTorrent sites for what you need? Yeah, me too. So try using Torrent Typhoon, it searches all major BT sites. It was a bit slow on a few searches I did, but I was pleased with the search results overall. And they have a FireFox plug-in, too.

New Star Wars Trailer

Okay, so you've already seen the trailer that came out a few weeks ago during The OC. Now you can see the updated trailer, complete with captions! I laughed so hard I hurt myself. My favorite part is C-3PO. And, yeah, I've got my tickets already. Don't you?

Inspired by my friend Ian, I wrote a script last night to scrape freeway speed information from a well-known traffic site and format it for a small display using minimal HTML. I decided to go ahead and parse out all of the San Diego freeway data, since I usually have a couple of options for going home and this way it's also useful in case I'm just running around town and want to optimize my travel time. I only have my Motorola MPx200 Smartphone to test it on, so I have no idea what it'll look like on any other brand/model. But, if it works for you, then you should be able to get some pretty good up-to-the-minute information about current freeway speeds.

More Pictures

Here are a couple more pictures that I scanned recently. The first is a shot of Bridge Mountain, at Zion National Park. I had a little bit of luck and was able to catch a near-full moon rising just over the horizon.

This next picture I took just a couple of weeks ago during one of my trips to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The wildflowers were in full bloom thanks to all the rain we've had this season, and butterflies were all over the place. I needed a LOT of patience to make this shot, I basically found a spot where there were lots of them flying around and had to stand perfectly still for over a half hour until a couple finally got brave enough to get near.

I'll be posting some more soon, and will probably make several wallpaper sizes out of at least one of them. Stay tuned.
